Arctic Valley short story
The day was simple. Wake up, go to school, eat breakfast, and start class. Took about a 30min drive to get to our destination, I mainly just stood there looking at the hill/mountain we were about to walk up. I was mainly thinking to myself, "Oh my..." when everyone was waiting around. Im sure everyone were thinking the same thing, anyways the day was cloudy with sunlight fighting the clouds but always losing the fight. Barely felt any breeze against my skin because I was wearing a sweater and some heavy shorts, really regret that. Calves were burning in the first 5mins and I swear I leave my mouth open for a second only to have a fly ram itself in there, it was so gross I can remember the taste. I can hear moaning and groaning from everyone, I don't blame them that hill was too much (especially when you're new to hiking!). As we got to the top I sat down and opened my snack pack at a blast of peanuts and chocolate struck my nostrils, it was my overall joy to smell such treats, made the hike a little bit worth it. Saw the trail down and thought, "Mmmm, oh yeah."
