Where I'm From

I am from the Land of Bears,

to where the sun sets on the Sleeping Lady.

I am from where the salmon own the rivers,

and the earthworms rule the land.

I'm from good days 

to the stress days,

from the "I'm tired" 

to the "I'm fine."

I'm from a "mature quickly",

to a "don't grow up too fast" family.

To the "walk in the burning Guatemalan sun",

to the "shovel the driveway."

I'm from the drowning desire to see,

to the blind side of me.

I may not have good sight,

but I do know wrong from right.
