WHERE I'M FROM
I am from the Islands,
from hula dancing and falling coconuts.
I am from that red dirt road,
dusty, cloudy, and home.
I am from top ramen and hot dogs,
from baths and toys.
I am from tattle-tails and the blaming,
from respect and be quiet!
I am from Laie and Anchorage,
spam musuby and panning for gold.
I am from the father of my grandfather lost to disease.
and the hardships he went through.
In my room was a binder,
telling old stories,
we made up as kids.
I am from that time,
learning from your mistakes,
and loving no matter what.
I am Hekili Foma'i, and I am a Pacific Islander!
I LOVE MY POEM!!!!!! ITS THE BEST THERE EVER WAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
