I am from the land of the ducks,
now living in the land of the bears.
I am from the dirt and snow hitting my face,
to a soccer ball between my feet.
I am from the "don't do,"
to the "do more."
I am from a "mature quickly"
to a "don't grow up to fast" family.
I am from a family that lives for the American Dream.
I am from the "I'm happy"
to "I'm salty."
I am from the "leave me alone,"
to "stand by me."
I am from the "I give up,"
to "I will prevail."
You wouldn't understand me if you tried,
but I still sat there and cried.
I don't like to think about the past,
but I still wear it like a cast.
I am Jazmin Morales-Hernandez, and I am from Anchorage, Ak.
